There are a variety of extra curricular activities that the school is involved in.
Sport is an important part of life in Ard Scoil. Football, Hurling and Basketball are the main sports played. Our most recent success in G.A.A. was achieved last year when we won the Dublin Colleges U/14 “A” Football Final, defeating Colaiste Eoin by 4-07 to 1-10. The school also has Badminton and Athletics teams and we are currently the All Ireland U/16 “B” Badminton Champions.
The school is active in Debating and last year reached the All Ireland Semi Finals of the Concern Debates competition. We send delegates to the Irish Model United Nations Conference each year. The Library is open daily at lunch time for those who wish to borrow books or play board games. A Science club also operates during lunch times.
The school also has a drama club which meets once or twice a week and mounts a major performance each year. Last year they performed Macbeth.
Finally the school has a very active Student’s Council, membership of which is open to Transition Years, Fifth and Sixth Years.
Students are encouraged to involve themselves in those activities that appeal to them as a part of their overall education
